Community Development

Developing and maintaining good community relations is critical for the Company’s social license to operate Avesoro believes that strong, well planned, executed and maintained symbiotic relationships that are based on mutual respect and trust with our host communities, host governments and other key stakeholders, are essential for sustainability of its projects. Our goal shall be to improve and strengthen the social license which we believe will result in clear and lasting value for all stakeholders and ourselves.

The key deliverables are:
  • Meeting Mineral Development Agreement (MDA) responsibilities
  • Delivering Community and Clan Development Funds & Investments
  • Delivering Resettlement Village infrastructure
  • Actioning livelihood restoration and engagements with Project-Affected Communities (PACs)
  • Set up five Micro-loan programmes to assist start-ups of small businesses in the community.
  • Constructing and/or restoring Hand Pumps in Surrounding Communities
  • Construction of Health Facilities (clinics, maternity homes, nurses’s quarters) in the communities near the Company’s operations
  • Building and/or Renovation of public schools and training centres
  • Constructing a modern police station with fully furnished officers’ living quarters
  • Building a large modern marketplace, town halls
  • Building and/or upgrading public roads and bridges
  • Building radio stations for the communities
  • Providing support of feeding, salary, medical and nonmedical materials.
  • Supporting training of students from communities in various technical and practical skills.
  • Providing annual supply of instructional materials to schools
  • Pay monthly stipend to teachers and nurses around mine sites
  • Established local kitchens to feed teachers, nurses, police, football team and town chief and youth leader offices and workers in various locations
