Environment
The Environmental teams proactively monitor, report and help to manage the Company’s impact on the environment.
As Liberia is in a high rainfall part of the world, water quality is meticulously monitored to ensure that the discharge criteria are maintained and that the river health is not compromised. Physical, chemical and ecological parameters are measured and recorded.
Air quality, and noise monitoring is also regularly undertaken at the operations.
Hazardous and domestic waste collection and disposal is managed and clean up campaigns are led.
Considerable effort goes into training of staff and community dwellers near the Company’s operations on a practical range of environmental topics. Raising awareness of issues and outlining the Company’s approach is a key area of focus.
