As part of our efforts to increase capacity at our gold mines in Liberia, we visited South Africa to inspect our new main ventilation fans. Our new main fans have been selected for our Marvoe - Kinjor Mine, Weajue Mine and Ndablama Mine as 3 x 600 kW, 2 x 600 kW, and 2 x 450 kW by collaboration of Prof Dr. Abdullah Fisne consultancy and excessive effort of our Technical Services. Specifically, the 3 x 600 kW fans are planned to operate in our new shaft, aiming for a significant energy saving. The selection of the main fans was made through a detailed examination of the production method, ventilation principles, ventilation on demand approach and the potential for mine expansions. Hosted by Howden, the trip included a tour of their facilities and a visit to the Mponeng Gold Mine, the world’s deepest mine. The visit was highly informative, allowing us to discuss current and future challenges, and providing insights to improve our operations. We are grateful to Howden for their hospitality and expertise, which will support our expansion plans and future collaboration in the mining sector.
